Terms of Service

Motocamp USA · Last updated: August 30, 2026

DRAFT — this template has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have counsel review it before commercial launch, and replace the bracketed placeholders.

1. Agreement

By using the Motocamp USA website or apps ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service is — and isn't

Motocamp USA aggregates camping, road, weather, cell coverage, and points-of-interest information from public and community sources (OpenStreetMap, Recreation.gov, USFS, BLM, Open-Meteo, OpenCelliD, NASA FIRMS, NWS, and others). This information is provided as-is, for planning purposes only:

3. Accounts

Motocamp USA requires an account. You sign up with a username and password (no email address is required), and new accounts include a 14-day free trial. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials — and because accounts have no email, keep the recovery code from Account somewhere safe; it is the only self-serve way to reset a forgotten password. You may delete your account at any time in the app (Account → "Delete account"), which permanently erases your stored data.

4. Purchases

Pro features are unlocked per account. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed and refunded under those stores' terms. Purchases made on our website are processed by Stripe; contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] for billing questions. Entitlements apply across all platforms where you sign in with the same account.

5. Acceptable use

6. Your content

Routes and spots you save remain yours. You grant us the license needed to store and sync them for you. We do not sell your personal data — see the Privacy Policy.

Places you add to the map

You can add a camp, dump station, water point or rest area that the map is missing, and confirm or correct places other campers have added. That work is public: it goes on the map for everyone, credited to your display name.

You keep ownership of what you add. You grant Motocamp a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, publish, adapt and distribute it as part of the app and its data. You confirm the information is yours to give and that adding it breaks no law or agreement.

Only add a place you know it is legal to stop at. Whether a stop is permitted is yours to check, not ours; a place being on the map is not permission to use it.

We may remove any contribution at any time, for any reason, without notice. We do not guarantee that camper-added places are accurate, current, legal or safe. A place nobody has confirmed is shown as unconfirmed, and that label is doing real work: treat it as a tip from a stranger, not a fact.

If you own or manage land that a camper has added, write to [email protected] and we will remove it. We do not ask you to prove anything first.

7. Third-party data & attribution

We use open and public data. Each source keeps its own licence. Credit that would normally sit on the map lives in the in-app User Guide under "Map data & credits", and in the list below. Their licences still apply.

A machine-readable note of which files carry which licence is in data/LICENSE.md in the source tree.

8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR AVAILABILITY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be noted in the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE, USA]. Questions: [SUPPORT EMAIL].
